Not a day
goes by when I don't think of Ben and your family. I continue to pray
for God to give you strength during this most difficult time. No words
can take away your pain and I can't even begin to understand what your
family is faced with, but know many are thinking and praying for you.

Tom and
Jennifer, You are constantly in my thoughts. I wanted so badly to come
see you guys before we returned back to Memphis, but for some reason I
can't get well. I have been through two rounds of antibiotics and
whatever it is, is lingering. McKinley has her surgery to implant the
radioactive plaque on Thursday. I don't want to call because I know that
you need to focus your time on Ben. Please know that we love you and are

I just
wanted to let you know that your fellow firefighters are praying for
your family and especially little Ben. We look forward to seeing your
updates and seeing how you are doing. I also have a 4 year cousin at St.
Jude's and she has been there for 2 years. There is nothing that can put
into words the struggle we have in understanding why such things happen
in our lives. We know God will answer these questions one day and it
will all make perfect sense to us. I also have a fellow firefighter with
two young boys named Ben and Eli and they are praying for your family as
well. You are in are prayers and you are an inspiration to all of us.

I pray for pain management and sleep for Ben. I pray for rest for his
family. I pray so much for the peace and comfort only you can give. I

Hey
Bowens, Just read the latest update from Mike and immediately began to
pray that God would intervene and get the pain meds working for Ben. My
heartaches for all of you, but I know that God has chosen you, his
children, to use Ben's life in a way that I don't believe you will ever
know completely until you meet our Master face to face and he says "Well
done my good and faithful servants". WOW! What a day that will be! I am
off work for awhile, so if you guys need any help, want me to take Eli
out for a day, come over do laundry, whatever you need. Just call me and

and Jennifer, My prayers are with you. May the God of ALL comfort and
peace be very real to you. I have prayed this prayer asking myself often
"Are you really able to comfort me through the most difficult
situations" and the answer I have always found in retrospect is YES!!! I
can't imagine your pain, but I know that God is using your family in a
powerful way. You have touched us, complete strangers in a way that I
can't even describe. Thank you for leaning on the One who can't be
shaken by anything, who is ABOVE ALL THINGS and for being such a light
to all of us who find ourselves asking the questions that there are no

I heard
this song for the first time Monday. It made me think of all the brave
cancer children I have "met". Ben is one of those brave souls. He has
