Ben's name in the prayer basket in the chapel at Pittsburgh's Children's
Hospital. My heart aches for your family. You have such a special child
with such strength and endurance. It is so amazing to watch such a tiny
person make such an impact in the world. I am sure that when God gave
him to you, he knew that you were the right people for someone so great.
I often wonder what the "grater good" is when children like him get
struck by this monsterous disease, and I know that your famiy has
figured it out. The wonderful things you are doing with his life and his

Bowen family - you are in our hearts and prayers morning and night. I

Still Believe". When I hear this song I think of your family and how you

As a
pediatric nurse I see children in pain and who are suffering almost
daily. There are days that I go home and just absolutly melt down. Some
days are more difficult than others, and some children cut straight to
the core of my being. I am also the mom of a child with special needs
making my job more emotional than the same position may be for others.
Many times I can tell a parent "I know what you are feeling because I've
been there", but I can't say that to someone who is losing their child a
little more with each breath he takes. I don't know how badly it hurts.
I can't even begin to imagine the pain you feel inside. Ben is an
exceptional child though. I feel his incrediable strength though your
journal entries. Eli is an amazing child also. He has been faced with
situations that most adults would not be able to cope with, and his
gorgeous smile shines. Your family is an inspiration to me. Your faith
is like none I've ever seen. I know that "through God" is the only way a
family can "get through" this typ

Just
wanted to share with you. On sunday morning, Mariah, our almost 6 year
old, brought out a craft from children's church. She had made a paper
praying hands that was folded. Upon opening the hands for her prayer
list, I was so pleased to see that the first name on her list was BIG
BEN. Kids do know what is going on! Becky and I were @ Johnny's Pizza on
thursday and looked up at the tv screen and saw Tom being interviewed.
We couldn't hear, but we saw Adams card shop, so we were very anxious to
leave and purchase our wrist bands. Mariah even has one even though it
keeps falling off. Praying for you. KEEP THE FAITH
