our prayers. I am so glad that you have hospice. They are amazing
people, but it just breaks your heart when you think of why you have
them. When do you get to go to Disney? I hope soon - that will be a

You don't
know me. But you have no idea how profoundly affected I have been by
your story. I am a 2nd year pediatric resident at Cabell Huntington
Hospital. I am also the mother of an astonishing 20-month-old son. I
often struggle with how much time I must spend away from my son - it
makes me deeply sad to miss so much of his life. And I have often
struggled with the notion that becoming a doctor was a mistake - I did
not know how deep my desire to be with my child would be until they laid
him on my belly the day of his bith. Coming to know your family, both
through the medical community and through this web site, has broguht me
great peace about some of the decisions in my life. It has reminded me
why I was called to become a doctor to children and it has made me more
grateful for each moment that I have with my greatest gift - my child.
I, too, am a person of faith and I have long loved the quote, "If the
only prayer you ever say is 'thank-you', that will be enough". I want to
say "thank you" to Ben and the whole Bow

and Jennifer, I check in on Ben often. The faith and steadfastness of
your family is inspiring. Myself and my daughters remember Ben and your
family in our prayers often. My seven year old daughter raises her hand
in Sparks everytime they take prayer requests and says, "pray for Ben".
Nobody says, "Who's Ben?" My heart hurts for what Ben and your family
are going through. Ben's story helps me to enjoy and appreciate every
moment with my precious children. Thank you for sharing your story.

Hey guys
we miss everyone so much too. I miss seeing everyone and spending time
with other families going through the same thing. I am gonna make a trip
to Memphis the week before Thanksgiving. I never really had closure
since we had no clue we weren't going back so I want to see all the
doctors and nurses and of course support staff and everyone at Target
House. Well praying all goes well this week getting things done with
your water line. Also praying for that much needed and wanted miracle

Getting
all of the wonderful care packages in Memphis was wonderful but now as
parents we have to figure out how to incorporate them into our
households. I'm still struggling with unpacking. You are right at home
we have more time to think about everything since the diagnosis. Jill
had a great week last week. I hope this week is the same. We will

JUST
CHECKING IN THIS MORNING. YA KNOW IN OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON WE ARE

NOT MAKE YOU A BAD PERSON. IT MAKES US HUMAN THE WAY GOD CREATED US. HE
NOT ONLY WANTS TO HEAR OUR PRAISES, BUT OUR DOUBTS, FEARS AND CONCERNS.
HOWEVER, I DO NEED TO TRY HARDER..... ANYWAY, I HAVE YOU IN OUR PRAYER
BOOK AT MY CHURCH (MT. SHARON FREE METHODIST). ENJOY YOUR LIFE AT
HOWEVER MUCH TIME YOU DO HAVE. NONE OF US ARE PROMISED TOMORROW, WE JUST

Bowens Family, Since seeing your story on the news I have checked your
website daily keeping up to date on your precious little Ben, infact I
have already signed your guestbook once but felt the need to say more! I
absolutely love the pictures that you have posted and I am so amazed by
Bens beautiful smile-other than his cute little bald head you'd never
know that he was battling for his life. Isn't it amazing how someone so
small can have so much strength and Bravery! I think God does this
purposly to make us think twice about the things that we as adults
complain about! You have two gorgeous boys and I know your pride is
undescribable. While I don't have the financial means to help out please
