all to well the "fear" of going home... and also the excitement. It was

amazed at how they are woven together and have touched lives all over
the world! I know I don't write often butI pray for you daily...as do
many, many others in the Youth for Christ family here and around the
world. (And that's just the YFC family.) Keep hanging onto Jesus! He
will give you everything you need to make it through each day. You know!

I haven't
signed the guestbook in awhile because I like to only write inspiring
messages. I've had a hard time dealing with the recent news, and I've
never even met Ben. I log on every day to check the updates. My heart
has been breaking for you all, and I can't find words of comfort, so I
have just not signed the book. When I was thinking and praying about it
today, I came to the realization that comfort does not come from me, but
from God. Although this is a tragic situation, you are still seeing
God's love through it and I decided it's not up to me to bring you
comfort. I know you are receiving that from a much higher source than
me. My prayer is that God will continue to provide you with the strength
necessary to endure what the future holds and to wrap His arms around
you as you leave your safe haven at St. Jude's. As always, you are on my

Good
morning, Bowens. It's been hard for me to post lately because I have
been so overwhelmed with emotion when I've visited Ben's site. Of
course, there's the emotion of sadness but lately there has been an
overwhelming sense of awe and praise for the Lord and the ways He is SO
clearly and obviously using this situation for good. We serve such an
incredible God with the greatest of ideas and the grandest of plans that
are designed to ultimately bring Him glory. God's arms are so sweeping;
He blankets this world in his comfort and no one is beyond his reach. I
can understand how scary--well, actually I can't understand because I've
never been in your situation before...nonetheless--it must be for you to
leave St. Jude's and come back home. But when we are within God's
reach--and we always are--we have protection that nothing else can

I feel
your apprehension about coming home. I cannot fully understand (though I
want to) what you are experiencing. Life is so unpredictable. I think of
you daily. Maddie and I pray for you every night. I am looking forward
to “family” time with our children again. A few weeks ago, a friend of
mine passed along an inspirational message that was fitting to me then
and now. I’d like to pass it on: “Start by doing what’s necessary, then
what’s possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible” – Saint
Francis I’ve never once questioned any of the decisions you all have had
made regarding Ben’s care. I know, as you do, you’ve done everything you
can do. Now it is time to quit “doing” and begin “enjoying”. Come home,
visit friends (here and friends in Memphis), and enjoy life. Be anxious
for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your request be made know to God; and the peace of
God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds

Hi guys,
Well, I'm back on-line after "Jeanne" came through. I got my power back
on Wed.PM. Four days without power or running water are tough to take.
But the Lord saw us through. Vero Beach looks like, well, what it is-a
disaster area. But the Lord put me in a house that was built 50 years
ago. It's seen it's share of hurricanes.So the only damage was cosmetic.
And I think that about 90% of the houses here will now need a new roof.
The winds at the airport(app 1 mile away from me) were clocked at
125mph. I'm so glad Ben's handling his radiation as well as he is. Then
to home.Remember, you might be away from the St. Jude support system,
but you're always within a prayer's reach to the Real Support System.

the cutest picture of the boys at FedEx. I teared up once again while
praying for them. I just want you to know that I am one out of the many
thousands that you, as a family, have encouraged and strengthened as a
