Dear
Bowen family, I have recently found your website through Carson's
webpage. It has taken me a while to really read it all and I do read the
updates weekly to see how Ben is doing. I pray for Ben every night to

Hey guys,
I am in tears this evening. I am so tired and work is stressing me
completely. I joined this listserv for Retinoblastoma parents and I am
not sure it is helping me. It seems to depress more because it just
shows me more and more that this will be a struggle for years to come. I
am so ready for life to be normal and I guess it just won't be. I miss
you guys. I wish I could hold Ben and play with Eli. I fly out on the
11th and I am looking forward to talking with McKinley's docs. The
occurance of second cancer for her is so high that I am starting to
worry. I have even read were Rb patients have received brain tumors on
the peneal glad and it is fatal. I know you have so much to pray for but
please remember me and pray that I kick Satan in the head for attempting
to add this depression and frustration on me. I know it will take you a
while to get settled back in when you get home. But call us as soon as

the words. We ask God to help us express our hearts as well to you. A
moment of reflection over the past several updates brought us back to
the comment about Ben looking into your eyes. Could it be that his heart
speaks to you through those wise old eyes what his young voice hasn't
found the words for yet? "I love you profoundly, I trust you completely,
thank you for all you have done & continue to do for me, your arms are
my hiding place where I am safe, I know how very much I am loved." Are
we not the same in our father's arms? Only those who lived it know the
experience of 9/11 aftermath, the unimaginable. But God gave you

I heard
about little Ben from my brother, Danny Hammond. He told me about what a
sweet little boy he is and what strong Christians his parents are. I

I know your emotions are running high about coming home. But even as
