Hi Tom
and Jennifer, I am so glad that you are able to have radiation. We found
that radiation was easier than the chemo. It did cause Michael's ears to
burn some, but that was treated with cream. The only other thing was
that Michael wanted to eat in the morning so we had to be sure that he
didn't see any food before we left each day. I have been praying for you
all each day and will continue to do so.

Look what
the Lord has done in the last 24 hours. How wonderful that Ben can have
radiation at St. Jude's. My dad, who just turned 85, was diagnosed with
non-hodgkins lymphoma in December. We've had some rough times since
then. He had chemo January-March and it was extremely hard, and he ended
up in the hospital with pneumonia. He had five weeks of radiation after
that 5 days/week, and is doing great right now. We all thought he was
going to die in March. But you know what, the Lord had different plans.
His ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. He is
truly a God of miracles. I'm believing in a miracle for beautiful,
sweet, precious Ben. Much love to Tommy,Jennifer, Eli, and Ben.

can say is AWESOME! I'm so glad Ben went through that surgery ok, and
that he's up and being his old self. He is such a strong little boy, so
brave and so happy for all he's going through. What gets me the most is
how I can sit here and say all those things about little Ben without
even knowing him. But I feel like I do, he's become a part of me, hes
become part of my faith, and that miracles do happen. And that God
really has a plan for all of us. He's touched so many people around the
world, hes brought people together to be there for eachother through the
hardest times. He is known for all of that, and that is a far greater
joy then anyone can ask for. That little boy has so many people loving
and praying for him, he's touched so many lives. Your little boy is very
special. Ben, I believe in you, and I pray for you, stay strong baby,
you have so many people pulling for you right now. Your doing a great
job, and your recovery's are amazing. Hang in there, I'll be praying for

Bowens, I had the pleasure to meet all of you during the Up 'til Dawn
conference in June. Ben's story and smile captured my heart immediately,
and I think about all of you daily. In fact, I listen to "He's my son"
probably five times a day, and whenever I need some inspiration I look
to Ben’s website. As the advisor of the Up 'til Dawn program at Eastern
Illinois University, I'm very excited about our upcoming 4-square
tournament on August 29th to help raise money for Ben and everyone else
at St. Jude. Besides fundraising and prayers, if there is anything our
Greek community can do for you or Ben, please let us know. (Gifts for
the boys, etc.) I'm planning on bringing a group of students down to
Memphis in a couple months so they can see first hand what all their
hard work goes towards. Hopefully, by that time Ben and the rest of you
will be back home, but if God has other plans for you, I look forward to
seeing you all again.

It is
amazing how well he is doing considering what is little body has been
through. A answered prayer indeed. Such great gifts Ben and your family
have been give. No matter the size they all are GREAT and we thank God
for each and everyone of them. In a way this is like back to block one.
But we know Chemo isnt for Ben. So we will take each option as it comes
and pray for guidance and you guys will make the right decisions. Every
day is a gift and blessing no matter where you are. Ben reminds me of
this daily. As so many other things I have taken for granted. My heart
breaks for Eli and I continue to pray for understanding times for him.
So much to take on for a 3 year old. Lossing Hanna is hard on everyone
who knew her. She was and is just one of them people who live in the
people who knew and loved her forever. Believing. Praying and smiling
for big Ben as he works the ladies. He is indeed a Warrior!
