I am so
sorry for your loss though I know you are happy that Ben is out of all
his pain and suffering. Ben has touched my life in so many ways and he
has become apart of our household. We have been following his story for
a long time. Ben is a very special little man and God chose a perfect

Our
deepest sympathies in the loss of your incredible son. My husband is
also a firefighter (dep. chief) so we feel that you are part of the
family in that sense and will continue to keep your entire family in our
thoughts. I can not imagine the deep pain that comes from the loss of a
child. While Ben's time on earth was short, the impact of his life was
huge. I learned through Allie Scott's story how awful these diseases
are. Ben's story only punctuated the need for more extensive research.
His life and story will have far reaching wonderful results for St.
Jude. His legacy will live on forever. Please know that we are praying
for Eli as well...the loss of a sibling is equally unimaginable. Keeping

I have
followed Ben's story for months. I am deeply saddened by all he and your
whole family has gone through, and I am truly sorry he has passed on.
Ben has taught me so many things, one being to NEVER take your children

about Ben's story through Allie Scott's MSN group. What a precious

friend of Tammy's. I am so sorry about Ben. He was a beatiful little boy

brave little boy, and such brave and wonderful parents you are. My

I read
the poem on Spiritisup and then I went to Ben's website and yes, my
heart is filled with joy but the tears did flow. It is truly amazing the
courage and love that is given to us each day by the children of the
world, no matter what adversities they face. I know that God is taking
good care of Ben and that the Angels are singing to Ben each day. My
heart goes out to all that knew and loved Ben for the wonderful child he
is and he will always be in the hearts and minds that did not know him
personally but have been touched by his story. As the song by Vince Gill
states the Angels did sing the day the gates of Heaven opened up for
Ben.

I don't
know what to say. I'm at a loss for words.I know that this is a sad
time, but at least his little body isn't suffering anymore. I may only
be 14 but Big Ben has impacted my life in ways you don't even know. I
wrote a poem about him for my reading class and I showed it to my
parents and it brought tears to people's eyes. I'm sure that it wasn't
because of my poem but because of Ben. May God be with you. Sending lots

I would
like to send you my condolences for the death of your son, and would
like to share my own experiences with you. My own son, born on
9-30-2002, came into the world about 15 weeks early, and was 1lb 6
1/2oz. He spent the first 18 weeks of life in the UKCH in Lexington, KY.
between then and now, he has endured 10 surgeries on his lower G.I.
tract, throat, and 1 eye. His little belly looks like a tic-tac-toe
board from the incisions and colostomy bags. He is now 28 mos old, and
is thriving, other than a lung disease called Broncho-Pulmonary
Dysplacia also known as BPD. He is like your son in the way you describe
his constant happiness, and his bravery. May the lord Jesus bless you in
this very difficult time of your lives.
