Dear
Bowen Family, My heart aches as I read your last update. I ask the same
questions you do but your faith has helped me realize that God is doing
something much bigger. I pray for you ,Tom and Jennifer, to be strong
through these very difficult times. I pray for Eli, to be able to enjoy
the moments he has with Ben. Most of all, I pray for Ben's pain to be
taken away and for him to have peace and comfort. Me and my family hold
each of you close to our heart and we will continue to pray for you. May
God embrace you through these very difficult times. Love, The Whittaker

Ben, you
are such a special little boy. Your story has touched my heart more than
I can say. A mother of 2 little boys myself, I can only imagine what you
are going through, but your love for your family shines through and sets
an example that anyone touched by Ben's life can see. God bless you all,
lessen Ben's pain, and be with you all through the next few days. You
are all in my prayers.

Tom,
Jennifer, Eli & Ben: When my daughter left California 22 months ago to
work as an RN at St. Judes, little did I know what an impact it would
have on my own life. It brought me to all of you. You will never know
how your family and your deep faith has effected my life. My heart aches
for all of you and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much
for all you are doing for St. Judes. Sweet Ben's legacy will live on
forever.

Tom and
Jennifer, I remember both of you from my high school Campus Life
organization. You have a beautiful family (I'm sure you know that!) and
wanted you to know that a day doesn't go by that my thoughts and prayers
aren't with you. I truly wish your family the best. I won't pretend to
comprehend your pain but I understand the fight. My brother is a
leukemia survivor, my aunt was not as lucky. Hopefully you can find some
comfort from supporters all around you. God bless your family.

I was so
worried the past couple of days after seeing no new postings.Ben seems
to hold tight for life and to still have precious moments with your
family. His persistence is one of many reasons God may allow this
suffering. Ben's persistence, and your family's shows just how much
onelittle boy and one family can take and still have strong faith.Often
I have felt that, though very sad, it is remarkable how much power all
you have had.I'm not sure how it makes you feel, because no one would
want to sacrifice a child's pain to do something so wonderful and
glorious as your family has done with Ben, but I guess we all play the
cards we are dealt.I told my mom yesterday about how people often ask me
if I am mad at God, or how do you deal with it so calmly and I told my
mom that many cannot understand unless thrust into this situation where
everything around you seems to lose its importance-I'm speaking of
material things ofcoarse.Your job, your car, your money, your
jewelry-none of it matters anymore; only love and devotion to your l

Dear Eli,
I know this has been a hard time for you, having to see your little
brother so sick. It is hard to understand why, I know. However, Eli we
are all so proud of you for being the best big brother that anyone could
have. I know you have been such a big helper to Mommy, Daddy and Ben.
God and everyone see the great job you have done and still do. God has
made you a strong little man. Again, we are all so proud of you. I am
sending along a big hug and kiss to you. Please tell Mommy, Daddy and
Ben that I send one to them, too. You are so loved! Kim and family

My heart
breaks to know of Ben's physical pain and his beloved family's emotional
pain. Your entire family has touched so, so many people and given
glimples of hope that thru faith, anything is possible. I hope you
continue to realize and feel the spirits of all of us 'out here' whose
prayers continually focus on your beautiful Benjamin and Eli. Believing,
right along side of you.

To the
Bowen family.. My heart and prayers go out to your family. I have been
following Big Ben's story for quite some time and I wanted to let you
guys know what an impact your family has made on my life. My daughter's
school has been raising money for Big Ben and she is always talking
about him and asking questions. Your family is so remarkable.. We often
ask ourselves "WHY" things happen and although we never find the answers
we are looking for, God always has them. I lost a very close cousin when
I was young and being young I never understood why God took her..but I
do remember the poem that was shared with me and I want to share it with
you. Little Angels When God calls little Angels to dwell with Him above
We mortals sometime question the wisdom of His love, For no heartache
compares with the death of one small child, Who does so much to make our
world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to
his fold. So he picks a rose bud, before it can grow old. God knows how
much we need them

Oh, it
breaks my heart to think of what you are experiencing right now. I pray
that God will take the pain away and give peace and comfort. Eli, give
Ben lots of hugs and kisses. I hate that you have to watch your baby
brother go through so much; love your little heart. Tom and Jen, stay
strong for our savior is right there to guide you through all of this
and he knows best. Sometimes we don't understand why things happen the
way they do. Ben has touched so many lives and through his story he
always will. We all would take his pain away if we could. Your such a
wonderful family. Please know I hold you close to my heart everyday. I
love all of you and continue to lift you up in prayer. Still
believing......

sorry..
the poem got cut off...here it is again LITTLE ANGELS When God calls
little Angels to dwell with Him above We mortals sometime question the
wisdom of His love, For no heartache compares with the death of one
small child, Who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold. So he picks a rose
bud, before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so He
takes but a few, To make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult, still somehow we must try. The saddest word
mankind knows, will always be "goodbye". So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind must realize God loves children & angels are hard
to find. Ben is truly a precious little angel and I am sure Eli must be
wondering why this is happening to his little brother. I hope maybe you
can share this poem with him when the time comes, maybe it will help him
understand that God chose his brother because he is SO special. If I can
do anything for your

Your
whole family continues to be in my thoughts and prayers during these
difficult days. Keep believing in Gods purpose. I know from my
experience of my mother passing from brain cancer its a slow and very
painful process, and it is draining to the family to watch and feel so
helpless. The amazing thing is that her sprit left her body about 24
hours before her body actually shut down and God let us watch and know
he had called her spirit home. I pray for Ben. I will say a special
prayer for Eli.

I have
been following Ben's story for some time now (we go to church with Susan
and Bob). My heart aches for your family. Everyone has their own "cancer
story" and I feel compeled to share a small part of mine. My 1st husband
was diagnosed and very aggressively treated for five years for cancer. I
too wonderd why he had to suffer so badly. That was 12 years ago. He
died at the age of 40 leaving me with a beautiful 2 year old daughter
and a life full of pain, agony and the inability to understand why he
had to suffer so much. I did not know the Lord at that time. As the
years have passed, the pain has eased and I have watched our daughter
grow into a beautiful young lady. She misses the dad she barely had time
to get to know, but she is also blessed with a loving step-dad. The
reason I was moved to tell you all of this is to say that after Bible
study the other week I had a remarkable revelation. I had never been
able to understand why my soulmate had to suffer so badly. Then it hit
me, God hadn't made him suffer, it was

Thank you
for the update, I have been praying and wondering all week how Ben is
doing. His story has touched my life at a time when I needed a wake up
call to the 'important' things in life-which are my own children-my
husband-my parents-my sisters and their families...and NOT the material
things-those things can always be replaced... I'm praying for comfort
for Ben, Eli, and thier parents. God Bless You. Kari
