I sat by
a woman during Jaimie's gymnastics class the other day, and when I told
her about Easton, she basically explained to me that if we just prayed
and believed, everything would be okay. And I thought of Ben, and Aaron,
and Hanna, and all of the many children at St. Jude for whom countless
prayers, from faithful believers, have been said. And I know, as you
know, that God CAN heal Ben, but He may not do it on earth as we would
like. Not understanding this does not make me less faithful, and Ben's
illness does not represent a lack of faith or performance on his
family's part. I know, Tom & Jennifer, that I am not imparting any great
wisdom on you. I just want you to know that I stand with you on this,
that we think of you every minute, that we are keeping you in our
prayers. Much love coming your way from Florida.

I just
want your family to know that all of you are in my prayers. I have a 13
month old Benjamin and an older son, and can not even begin to imagine
the pain you all are enduring. May God bless your family, and may His
grace continue to sustain you in this difficult journey. I pray for His
mercy on Ben, for a peaceful and perfect transition, from your loving
arms to his Heavenly Father's. God bless each one of you.

Tom and
Jennifer- Happy Valentine's Day. I pray you all are experiencing peace,
rest, and lots of love today. I bought a wristband from Sarah and wear
it everyday. My 4 yr. old, Allyson, asked me what it said, so I told her
about Ben. Now, every time she sees someone with one of these wristbands
on (regardless of which one), she says, "Mama I bet it says Big Ben
too"! Just wanted to let you know how often you are thought of.

A friend
whose daughter is in remission from Leukemia told me about this site. As
I sit here covered in tears, I am amazed at the strength you possess.
But I understand it comes from Him. I also have a 2 year old named
Benjamin. I will think of you always as he grows. I am praying for your
continued strength and understanding.

I just
want to tell you that I personally think your faith is amazing and a
true testimony to who you are and what God is doing. You are absolutely
right-if this is the best He has to offer, we are all in BIG trouble.
You know that Ben is not going to be alone. He is going to be a great
addition to heaven. With all the lives he has touched here, I am sure
there are many in heaven who just can't wait to meet him. I believe he
will bring great joy to Jesus and I bet they will share many laughs
together. You guys are awesome and a true inspiration to our family.
Keeping you in our prayers.

I just
wanted you to know I pray for your family daily. Our son Patrick was in
Lebonheur in Aug o4 he had a large r temporal lobe tumor resected by drs
sanford and boop. Our son is 10 years old and is so blessed to be doing
well. It was certainly very touch and go for a while. My husband
(Patrick) met you out in the hallway and told us part of your story and
we have kept up through your web page. We are like you all that we have
2 boys (now ages 7 and 10.) I just wanted to let you know that way down
south in Louisiana Ben has touched our lives. My 2 boys cantwait to wear
their "big ben" bracelets and want to pass them along to their friends,
along with ben's story. What a beautiful child he seems to be through
that beautiful smile. God Bless You all through these very intense days
and nights., and peace to you all. My heart aches for what you all must
be enduring with god's touch. Prayers and peace to you all, leah yancey

Tom, I
feel your frustration about people making you feel like it is something
that you and Jennifer are not doing and that is why Ben is not being
healed. I still get those comments from people about McKinley.
McKinley's disease is something that my family and I pray for a healing
in every prayer, but we have now been battling fourteen months and the
Dr's speculate 3 more years of fighting. We all know what God is capable
of. He was capable of saving 15 of my immediate family members since her
diagnosis. Absolutely transforming my whole family. Can you imagine how
it felt going through my bedtime prayer and only having a few names to
call out for salvation? You hold close to the peace in your heart that
Ben's Story has touched so many lives and as hard as it is to understand
God is always in control. We love you.

My heart
continues to break for you. It seems that each new update brings more
pure heartbreak. I can't begin to imagine what it feels like to be in
your shoes. I just wish that I could help you more... I know that my
prayers for Ben's comfort and peace are heard, and I know that they will
be answered in one way or another. I only wish I could just hug you all
and somehow help you through this.

tom, jen, eli, ben just was reading your feb 14 post and its hard to
believe that some one could actualy suggest that your faith in god or
anything along that line could have anything to do with bens illness
guess it just shows the ignorance in the world as most of us know that
gods will shall be done no matter who we are or how our faith is please
give ben and eli kisses and hugs from across the river and know that you
are all in our prayers daily

Your
focus on God's promises are encouraging to us as you endure the battle.
While we pray for you and the boys, we also praise Him with you that we
do NOT have to perform and that His way is ALWAYS perfect. Thank you for
reminding us all how wonderful God is. Rest in Truth- it always
prevails.

Dearest
Bowen Family, We have never met, but I have followed Big Bens story
since my nephew, baby Ben (Reed) was first diagnoised. Your entire
family's faith and Big Ben's story are AWE INSPIRING!! I hope that the
hurtful entry about you needing to believe more in God to heal Ben was
someones misguided attempt to offer comfort to your family, and perhaps
didn't get it right. May God Bless them! I wish that EVERY family could
experience the love of God and the love of OUR SAVIOR that you so
obviously have. Keep doing what your doing, loving on those sweet babies
and putting all else in the very capable hands of Our Lord Savior.

Bowen
Family, I met you guys twice. Once in an elevator at the Target house.
Eli was so sweet and so mature beyond his years. Ben didn't feel well
and you were heading back to the hospital. I remeber telling Ginger
(Carson Brauns mom) about the two very special boys I met breifly in an
elevator. The second time was at Cole Walkers first birthday party. Big
Ben's smile lit up my heart. Eli was having a time fending of the
ladies! What an impression you all have made on so many lives. I am
broken hearted for what you are going through. Ben will forever leave a
mark on me. I am so grateful to you all for the continuing contribution
you make to St. Jude even in a time like this. I know Ben is very proud
of his mommy and daddy. I pray for Ben to be pain free. Peace and rest
for Tom, Jennifer and Eli. One day there will be a cure for this
horrible disease and that will be in part thanks to you all. Thank you
for sharing your couragious fight with the world. Thank you and God
Bless You all.

I would
just like to say that Ben has been such an inspiration to me. I have 19
month old twins and I have always felt so blessed to have them in my
life, but seeing what Big Ben has endured has made me appreciate them in
a much bigger way. I come to the web site daily to check in. My heart
aches for Ben and his family. Your faith and endurance is amazing. May
God hold you in his arms in these trying times, and give Ben and the
whole family comfort. God bless you Bowens!

Happy
Valentines Day Dearest Bowen Family and especially Big Ben and Big
Brother Eli! This day is a special day of love and I can't think of a
family with more of that than yours! I know that your hearts are
breaking now and yet your faith is unwaivering. I would like to think
that I could do the same if in your situation but sometimes I am not so
sure. God has a wonderful way of getting us through the pain though and
I know that because of your astounding faith and the prayers of
thousands Our Father is working overtime performing miracles in your
family. We can not see them all but by Faith we know that it's
happening! Praise God! Still praying, believing and sending you much
love. Patricia

I don't
know how anyone can follow Ben's story and accuse his parents of not
having enough faith. It takes far more faith to watch your child suffer
and still trust that God's decision is best than to believe God can heal
Ben, yet Tom & Jennifer have done both throughout this terrible ordeal.
They have demonstrated more faith than anyone I know. We prayed for a
miracle, and God gave us one - not the miracle we asked for, but an even
greater miracle. God's focus is more on the internal than the external,
and look how many thousands have been spiritually healed because of the
faith and the prayers going up for one little boy. It was because of his
parents' strong faith that God performed this miracle. I believe, and I
know Tom & Jennifer do too, that God can still heal Ben, even now. But
if He decides to take Ben home, it's not because of lack of faith, it's
because He has a sovereign reason beyond our understanding for doing so.
He is God, after all. Tom & Jennifer, thank you for showing us all what
true faith is all about.
