Congratulations Big Ben on being selected Patient of the Month. I sit at
my desk crying after reading what Tom said on the St. Jude Patient of
the Month website about Ben being a hero. Even though I have never met
Ben or his parents he is now my HERO also. Tom and Jennifer are also my
heroes. As a parent myself I cannot imagine the pain that they are going
through worrying about Ben. My worries about my children seem so small
compared to the worry that they endure every day. I pray that God will
heal Ben completely and let him get on with his life as a child free of
this horrible tumor.

Tom,Jennifer, Eli, and Big Ben The first time we ever met you, was when
the Huntington National Guard was deploying and you presented a flag to
the commander. My (Wanda) son in law was one of the men being deployed.
We also heard you speak at the freedom rally at Marshall Stadium. We are
so sorry about Ben. We also are praying for his recovery. We put his
picture on the alter at church so everyone would remember to pray for
him. We have his picture on our fridge to remind us to pray. We check
your web page several times a day for updates. He is such a beautiful
baby. We pray that Hanna's mom and dad will always lean close on the
Lord. Life is so hard and we don't always understand. But we know God
has never made a mistake. There are so many heartaches and pains that we
have to go thru. But one day, Hanna, Ben and family with all of God's
children will all be together and enjoy heaven forever. We'll never have
to loose loved ones anymore. We can see how the Lord is using your
family to minister to others that

Tom,Jennifer, Eli, and Big Ben . . . We can see how the Lord is using
your family to minister to others that are hurting and facing the same
battles. We never know how God will use us. It is easy to say I know
what you are going thru but we don't until we have been there ourselves.
I know that I (Betty) will never forget the bonds that we made with
other families in the hospital as I set watching my mother die with
lukemia at age 52. We still keep in contact with the other christian
families that we met and leaned on during that time. We know the nights
are long and dreary. We pray God will continue to strengthen and keep
you close to Him. Your family has been a blessing to see how you have

I sit
here at 10:30pm not really knowing wjat to write to you. My daughter
Emily was diagnosed with Rahbdoid Tumor of the Brain in Febuary,04. My
world willl never be the same she is doing well and responding to
treatment, and I know God has a plan for all of us some plans are just
more diffulct than others. I know the feeling of waititng for MRI
results. Your child is so strong going through what he is going through.
Everyone tells me I am such a strong woman and I have such a positive
attitude given the rate of success dealing with rhabdoid. Emily has went
through alot but it does not compare to the procedures Ben has overcome.
My prayers are with you and your family. I used to think that the lord
was testing my faith in him, and I could not figure out why, because I
have always been a frim believer in him. I have now come to the
conculsion that it was not my faith he was testing, I just needed to
share my faith with others by words and by my actions. I believe all
people have a purpose in life we will touch many souls in

I just
flipped on the tv, sat down, and then heard the words for the tv, "my
son has a brain tumor." Of course, be the mom of a bt kid, I looked up.
Who should I see on the tv but Big Ben. Heard the words and saw both Tom
