wanted to let you know we are still checking on ya'll. Just about every
night, some one will ask "Has anyone check on Ben today?" and then
someone will fill everyone else in. We are thinking of you all and

Bowens, What a blessing that Rachel is recovering. You are so wonderful
to be thinking of her and her family when your own family is suffering.
So many are praying that Ben's path is an easy one right now. May you
get the guidance you need to help Ben stay comfortable. Be strengthened
in the knowledge that no parent loves a child more than you love Ben and
Eli. They are without a doubt two of the luckiest boys on Earth. I got
tears in my eyes last weekend when I saw Tom and the rest of the family
on my TV all the way out here in Kansas. I wasn't really watching, but
the face looked so familiar! Then I realized it was a St. Jude's
commercial and there were the Bowens! I have never even met you, but it
was like watching a friend. Thanks for using your story to benefit St.
Jude's. Many wishes for peaceful days and nights full of love and hugs.

Bowen's, I was so happy to hear Tammy is with you. She is a wonderful
example of God's love and strength. I called her last week when there
was a lapse in your updates and she filled me in. If anyone can
empathize with what you are facing it is her. I pray for all of you
several times a day, just a quick thought here and there throughout the
day. So happy to hear Rachal is better, my prayers are for her also.

Hoping
the new pain meds will make things more settled and relaxed for all of
you. I am still praying for a miracle. I also pray that God will give
Tom & Jen peace that you (T&J) have done and will do everything you can
for your boys. I wonder if Ben has any idea how powerfully his short 2
years of life has impacted all of us who check on and pray for him. I

be so hard for you to even have the time to let the people know how
everything is. In the good times and the bad. Know that we are with you,

Oh Dear
God, Please give Ben the rest and peace that He needs. Thank you for the
wonderful spirit that you have put within him and the joy and passion
that he has for life. Reassure him Lord, as only you can. Settle his
little heart and help him sleep as needed so that each moment that he is
awake he might experience it fully & soak up all the love around him.
Father, please let Ben know that it is okay. Let him know your presence
and feel the warmth and assurance from those around loving on Him. Thank
you so much for all you are doing and have done in his life. God, please
continue to provide your strength, peace and protection to Tom, Jennifer
and Eli as well. Give them great confidence that you are mighty & real &
that Ben's best days are ahead. Remind them that that is true for us

please grant the bowens the rest they need. Please grant them the

Dear Tom,
Jennifer, Eli and Ben: It has been sometime since I have posted a
message but tonight I feel compelled to do so. As Beckett and I (my 3
year old son) and I check your page this evening(as we do every day) I
was overcome with saddness. Beckett was standing by my side but now he
climed into my lap. He too said "Mommy I'm sad" I asked him why. He very
tearfully said " I don't want Baby Ben to die, I want to be his friend.
Can you please ask Jesus to make him better?" If only it were that
simple....Please know that we check in and pray for your family daily. I
pray that God will give you the comfort and peace you desire so
desperately. Ben's better days are ahead yet I struggle so hard to come
to grips with this and seem to continually be asking why? I CANNOT
comprehend the hurt you are going through. Please give Baby Ben and Eli
hugs from my boys. Tell them both how truly special they are to us and
that we are praying for them. Your family is a true inspiration and I
treasure the fact that you are so honest

Bowens, I too check in fairly regularly and I imagine how you are
absorbing every single sensory moment with Ben. I commend you for
balancing your life, and your thoughts for yourselves, your extended
family (who thinks they have anything left to give to another hurting
family???) and all of us out here in cyberspace. I think of, and pray
for you often. For your hope, strength and courage in this chapter of
your life. You are living every second more fully than most of society
