Dear Tom,
Jennifer, Eli and Ben: I also type this with a very heavy heart Tom. I
know that most people have no idea of the pain you endure preparing
yourself for the worst day of your life. There will be an empty spot in
all of your hearts and ours also. It's so hard seeing this coming and
feel so helpless to do anything about it, then coming to terms with it.
I don't think we ever get over the whys, why him, why now, why not me,
etc. Tom and Jennifer your child is truely blessed by jesus himself, to
go through what that boy has been through and still be happy, smiling
and alert etc. is a miracle itself. Your Ben has inspired tens of
thousands of people around the world. My family checks in on Ben
everyday like he's our own child or the closest of relatives. We all
have our happy and sad days for Ben as we did Karley. Big Ben is an
inspiration to life itself. Ben has touched our hearts more then you'll

CONTINUED- faith and the love you all share wiht other families in
similar situations. The love and thoughfulness you guys have shown other
families, shows how special the Bowen family truely is. Eli is also my
hero for the care and love he has committed to his little brother, alot
of siblings would be jealous of the attention his brother was getting
but Eli shows his love through all the good and bad days. Karley's
brother Ryan still talks to Karley everyday, so I know Eli will to. Like
us he will never forget his little brother. Tom and Jen, I have never
cried for another family but I have for yours because I truely know what
your going though. Tom your family is the symbol of America to me, a
family of love and consideration for others, with a belief of a higher
power that can heal us on our most desperate days when we all wonder

Hello
Bowen family. I am new to Bens page and have been so touched reading the
entries of both the guestbook and updates. I was especially touched by
the picture of both boys with their daddy --- it was on Eli's page. I
immediately had visions of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thank you
thank you for sharing your story with all of us. You have touched me in
a way that I can't explain.

Hi
Bowens! I sent you an email, but I am not sure it went out correctly. I
saw in Reader's Digest about a drug called Avastin. It is an antibody
that blocks the growth of new blood vessels that help cancer stay alive
and spread. It's being tested on many different cancers and if you go to
google and type in "Avastin" and "rhabdoid" some interesting things come
up. I am sure you probably know about this, but on the off chance you
didn't, I wanted to share this with you. Anything that might help Ben, I
want to share with you. We are still praying for the Christmas Miracle!

Dear Ben,
You are so famous! I was watching bits and pieces of a movie this
afternoon on USA (The Majestic, starring Jim Carrey) and all of a sudden
this handsome young face appears on my TV! It can't be...but it is! Big
Ben right in my living room! Followed by his loving daddy and mommy!
What a hard-hitting commercial for St. Jude's that is. I feel so proud
to know someone like you who has fought the beast so hard and made your
mommy and daddy (and big brother!) so very proud. There is a little boy
from my town at St. Jude's too. His name is Daegan and he had a haplo
transplant to try to get his leukemia under control. I'm glad you like
your new Thomas train. Tell daddy to watch out though, that stuff is
daddy crack--they need it more than their sons do! I hope you are
feeling OK and resting up from all that playing. You have so many people
and angels watching over you that I don't think you will ever have to
worry about anything, ever again! Give your mommy and daddy lots of big

Ben, You
& Jeff were diagnosed with cancer around the same time. Hearing the news
of your battle, how brave you have been, was such an encouragement to
Jeff. When Jeff was recieving his transplant, he said, " If Big Ben can
lay still and go through it, so can I!" You have touched our lives
beyond what words could say. Every time we have family prayer Jeff prays
for you, he wakes in the morning and wonders how you are doing and asks
me to check the web updates! You have given Jeff the desire to keep
