I loved
your comment about the "strength" people say that you have. People
talked about the "strength" that we had when we lost our daughter in
Aug. I told my husband the other night...this did not strengthen me...I
feel much weaker. I continue to trust God and allow him to walk me
through this. Tom, your words are so beautiful. You should really think
about editing your journal entries into a book. That could also be an
extension of Ben's ministry. You are just able to express you feelings
so well in written words. The grief is overwhelming and for that grief I
truly believe God cries for us or "with" us. He must look upon us, his
children, with hurt as we are hurting. No parent wants to see their
children in pain...emotional or physical. Lean on his compassion! The

I am
praying for Ben's family. My grand daughter was diagnose with cancer of
the Kidney at age 15 months. She will be 3 years old on March 5, 2005.
She is a survivor and has been in remission for 14 months now. She had
to have her kidney removed and part of her diaphram. She had Chemo and
radiation. She had 2 strokes during surgery and now on seizure medicine.
She is doing real good. It was so hard to see her with all the tubes in
her. All I had was faith that God would help us through our ordeal and
he did. I know that your faith will help you through your ordeals. My
heart goes out to you and may God comfort you.

Ben's
story really touches a lot of people's hearts, and it really touched
mine. I did not know Ben, nor the Bowen family but It was very upsetting
whenever I got the news he had passed. Almost everday I have thought
about him and how he went through so much but he found ways to smile
even though he was going through so much. Now that he is with the Lord,
he doesn't suffer or cry anymore and he's in a much better place now.

I can
only imagine how it feels to lose a child. There are no words to make
the feeling go away. I lost my father recently to a 6 month battle with
cancer and have lived in a dark place ever since. Seeing your strength
and hearing your words has provided me with the courage to step into the
light and believe once again God is by me side. I thank you and pray God
will bless all of you in the future. God blessed Ben when he gave him
Tom and Jennifer as parents.

be imitators of Christ. Ben was certainly that in life and in death.
Although is life was short; it had a tremendous impact on many people's

sorry for the loss of Big Ben. He was such a remarkable young man, and
still is. Ben did what most men try to do. With Bens illness more people
prayed and become closer to Christ. As the Bible says A Little Child
shall lead them..and I do believe that Ben was here to bring people
closer to Christ. Tom, Jennifer and Eli we are very proud of your family
for sharing Bens story with us. I prayed more and was more humble and
patient with people after learning about Ben. My children prayed for
your family and we continue to do so. We will always remember your
family and will continue to help out with donations to St. Judes

young and wild at Huntington East HS. To this day we still swap Shawnee
