goes out to Ben and his family. It is wonderful that you are choosing to
celebrate his life rather than mourn his death! His story is truly

Just want
you to know you're in my heart and prayers. When I think about Ben, the
song called "Bigger than my Body" always comes to my mind. The part that
says, "someday I'll fly, someday I'll soar, 'cause I'm bigger than my
body gives me credit for." All that Ben's little body has been through
has made his spirit so much bigger than many of us will ever be. It just
tears me apart that the horrors of this disease become a normal part of
life for these children. Your family has done a wonderful job of making
people aware that statistics are more than just numbers. They are sons
and daughters, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and
cousins...and even more importantly; it doesn't always happen to someone
else's family. God Bless your family with peace and understanding and
also comfort for Ben.

I am a
parent of a special needs boy who is 3 1/2 years old. I want you all to
know that you've set quite an example to all parents who face the
imaginable in caring for thier chronicly/terminally ill children. My son
has a life threating heart condition, birth defect of his brain, CP,
mental retardation all caused by DiGeorge Syndrome and Polymicrogyria.
His medical conditions that stem from these diagnosis are at time quite
overwhelming. Although our situations are quite different in many ways
we have shared the same concerns and faced some of the same challenges.
In many ways I have handled this change in our great plan of life well,
but, I have overlooked my role as a christian in the process. Thanks to
your family I have been encouraged. I want our life with "Reese" to be
an inspiration to others. I want to show families that in the face of
fear and disappointment our Lord provides a source of strengh and
comfort. We just have to look to him for help. I am amazed at how many
people believe that the Lord doesn't give

Bowen Family--I have been reading your daily updates, but never had the
ability to comment on them. Your faith is astounding (and contagious). I
felt compelled to share my heart and my prayers with you today & always.
I've shed tears of sorrow for your family and what Big Ben is going
through. He is so beautiful~he has made me a better Mother. I go home at
night to my two beautiful boys who are 5 & 3 and hug them tighter and
appreciate the blessing that they truly are because of Ben's story, and
other children that are/have gone through what Ben is enduring right
now. For anyone who is making comments about your family's
faith---please disregard them. God shines through in all of your words,
your strength, your dedication, and your love. I've been on a very
difficult and strained spiritual path, but I must say that you have

Bowen Family, To think about you are going through is a horrifying
thought, But just know that GOD IS THERE, and yes He will see your
entire family through this, for He has provided for us a comforter in
Jesus Christ, Just when you feel that you are at your wits end, He will
provide. My family just went through the surgery of our youngest son
Matthew, He was diagnosed with craniosynistosis, where the suture lines
in his head had fused prematurely, and without the surgery his prognosis
wasn't very good, But God brought us through, and Matty is doing
wonderful since, God has a way of turning the bleakest moments in our
lives into the ones that shine the brightest, and Big Ben is going to
shine. Just Keep God First, Put all of your faith and strength into
serving him and no matter what the outcome, He will keep your entire
family strong, Just Pray for God's Will to Be done, as well as God's
