Ben, Eli,
Jennifer and Tom, I am stopping in to see how Ben and Eli are doing
today. I have read your latest entry and am very sad to hear that Ben is
falling. Ben, I have not met you personally, buut thanks to your Daddy
and his updates I feel like you are all part of my extended family.
Everyday I come here to check on you. Everyday I say a special prayer
for each of you. You are both beautiful, strong, very courageous little
boys. Your whole family is such an inspiration to me. Ben - you have
shown me that children are the most important treasure in life. Because
of you. I don't get upset when my 15 mo spills, or makes a huge mess. I
just scoop him up and lavish him with extra kisses and hugs. You hA=

I came to
this site to research a speech topic for my comm 3 college class. as i
read i cried. thankyou for touching my heart in a way you will never
know. My family has a history of cancer. I just lost my grandma last
year to brain cancer. I have recently had some test ran and worried
about the results. but after reading your story I am not scared anymore

and Family - You are truly an inspiration to everyone! I have been
reading your story and have tears rolling down my face. You have really
touched my heart. I first learned of your story from my 12 year old
daughter when we went to order our BIG BEN bracelets. It is obvious from
reading your story that you and your family are surrounded by love -

and Mr and Mrs Bowen! My name is Breana Sowards!Ben,your story has
touched mine and my family's heart! I have a Big Ben bracelet and I wear
everyday and everywhere! I know how your family feels if they may lose
you to Cancer because my grandmother had colon cancer and she died when
I was 3! My family was devastated! I hope that someday someone can come
up with a cure to cancer but for now we just have to take it one step at
a time and hope for the best! My sister Tracy Straub goes to your church
and she has been telling me about you for a long time! Well I just

I'm
sorry! I am struggling hard with the WHY of this situation...I never
dreamed he would have to hurt so much towards the end. My heart hurts
for him that he has been feeling so much pain and my heart hurts for you
as well! What must you be going through every moment of every day (even
in your restless sleep)??? For Tom, Jennifer and Eli-I pray for peaceful
sleep tonight and pleasant dreams. May your several hours of sleep leave
you (miraculously) feeling more refreshed than a full nights sleep (and
more). And Ben, just like your wise father said, if/when you do see

begin--Your sweet family has been in my constant thoughts and prayers.
You are pillars of unwavering strength because of your deep faith. My 5
year old & I looked at the pictures of your family and I tried to
explain to him what was going on. He responded 'Its not fair for Ben,
but Grandma Judy will take care of him and he'll be all better. His
(Ben's) mom and dad will be sad for a long time but they'll be ok, just
like you mom.' (We lost my mom in June and he has been my saving grace!)
When everyone has had their chance to let go, Ben will finally be free
of this awful disease. What a wonderful life he has lived! He has
touched more people in his 2 years of life than most do in a whole
lifetime!! God Bless you and we are believing for always with you.

Lord, you
said that once I decided to follow you, we woiuld walk side by side
through life, but when I needed you the most, I saw only one set of
footprints in the sand. The LORD replied: "I love you and would never
leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only
one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you"...Everytime I
face a situation I think I can't handle I always read that poem. I hope
it helps you tonight. God as you have witnessed often, works in ways
that we will never understand. And it's understandable that we get angry
and frustrated when we always can't see what the plan is. You are a
family of divine faith and has a bond noone will ever break. My prayers
are with you in your time of trial and suffering. I will pray extra hard
for Ben. But also for Eli. May God help you explain to him in a way that
he understands "the best is yet to come" Prayers.

Jennifer, Eli & Big Ben, Many prayers go out for you all tonight. Once
again while laying my son down for the night I pray for constant peace
and a painfree night for Big Ben. Your story has truly touched my life
as well as many around the world. Tom, you're true, it is hard to tell
someone "If you see Jesus, run to him." I consider that divine faith. I
too lost someone very close to me to cancer in Jan. of 1998. My dad and
my daughter who was 18 months old at the time were very close. I too
watched the one that I love deteriorate. From a man who would plant a
garden and fish all summer, to a man who couldn't hold a cup to get a
drink of milk. It is a peaceful feeling when you have faith enough to
know that God is there in your time of sorrow. I sat on my dad's bed and
prayed to God that, "Lord, if your gonna take him, take him now, don't
make him suffer anymore." People say that this is horrible, for someone
to pray that God take a loved one. However, my faith has kept me
striving, to live the right life so that one

sorry. I know that there are no words to express my sympathy for your
family. I have a 2 year old daughter and cannot imagine the pain that
you are going through. I, too, often wonder why these things happen. I
am not a fan of "Everything happens for a reason." What good reason is

Ben's
pain is so unfair. I can't even imagine how bad it must be. You posted
about Eli's fear of being around Ben. I know that breaks your heart that
Eli has also gone through so much this year-as much as Ben but in
different ways. I pray for not only Ben's comfort but also Eli's . We as
adults do not understand this. How can a 4 year old? Praying for peace,
