Bowen's - Just wanted all of you to know that when I wake in the
morning, I think of Ben. And when I go to bed at night, I think of Ben
and say a special prayer just for him. To Eli -- it's okay to be scared
when you're hurting for your little brother. Ben loves you -- yesterday,
today and tomorrow -- and knows that you're the BEST big brother a
little boy could have! Peace and comfort to all of you.

know what to say. I heard someone famous say once that she was asked
what she knew for sure. She said the question gave her pause. She didn't
know, and I was so sad for her. I know that God lives and loves and
knows each one of us by name. I know that your family's amazing
perspective and willingness to share Ben's story has strengthened all

As I rock
Tristyn to sleep each night, I sing to her that "Jesus loves me". It
seems to be such a simple song, sometimes i wish i could come up with a
diferent, more original song. But really, isn't that all we want them to
know - that Jesus loves them and so do we. You all are for sure showing
that to Ben and to Eli and to the world! I want to thank you for showing
us how to run to Jesus! You have put your COMPLETE trust in Him, and
have not looked back! Thank you for sharing your lives with us. And
thank you for giving us a wonderful example of how to turn your complete
self over to the Lord. I continue to learn from you, all three of you! I
send love and prayers to you from the Blake's.

Once a
great Shogun in Japan summoned a wise person to his court and asked him
to confer upon the Shogun his greatest blessing.
After some time, the man simply replied:
"May your father die, may you die, may your son die."
Irate, the Shogun had the man arrested and imprisoned.
The following day, still angry, the Shogun summoned the wise man back to
his court.
"Why would you cast such a curse on my family? I could have you put to
death!"
"This is not a curse, Shogun, for any other order of events would lead
to a life of unhappiness."
Enlightened, the Shogun released his prisoner.
But with the grace of God, happiness will return.

know that God is still in control. And even when we don't understand or
would do anything to change the way things are, we have to hold on to
His promise that, "He will never leave us or forsake us". How hard it
must have been to speak those words to your son; however, the arms that
will be holding Ben in Heaven are also big enough to hold you, Jennifer,
Eli, and the rest of your family and friends as you continue to live the
life that God has given to you. Ben's life has and will continue to
touch the lives of so many and I know that my own family will never be
the same because we have seen a glimpse of Heaven and God's Grace in
your lives.

Ben, even though we've never met, I think about you constantly. There
are no words for the way you have touched my life. I pray for your
comfort. You've been through so much and you deserve to have peace. I
pray for Eli and that God can help him cope with what he is watching his
little brother go through. No child should have to suffer with this
disease or watch a loved one suffer. I pray for your mommy and daddy.

cannot fathom the purpose in the suffering of small children unless it
is to soften the hearts and galvanize the will of those who can help
find the cure. I know this was Allie Scott's mission in her short 9

Bowens........I'm amazed to see that app. 50,000 visits have made to the
site since Friday. Its so awesome. Ben's story is all over the world.
This morning Al on WQBE was talking about Ben and his story and then
yesterday I heard you (Tom) talking during "Live Like You Were Dying".
It was so touching. I received my wristbands in the mail Friday and am
wearing them in Ben's honor. He is with me everywhere I go.....The
latest update breaks my heart, but its inspiring to imagine Ben running
into the arms of Jesus. Its so good to know we will meet again some day
soon on streets of pure gold where there will be no pain or sorrow.
Thank you Jesus....I continue to pray for peace and comfort for all of
you. Know your loved and in the prayers of so many friends you've
