Jennifer,
Tom, & Eli... I received this from my friend, Donna, today. Her best
friend's little boy died this past summer and a lady left this message
for her in her journal. I found it so true and so comforting, I hope it
helps you. The little boy's name was Thomas, but it applies to Ben, as
well: Donna, do not let your children think for one moment that God
didn't save him. They may have meant, "Why didn't God leave him here
with us?", but God DID save him. He takes some people home early, but
remember that God knows the end from the beginning. Thomas might have
been about to go through something traumatic. God stepped in and said
'Not today my child, I will bring you home with Me now, so that you will
know everlasting joy with Me." Sometimes when we ask why God didn't save
them, we have to ask save them from what? As sure as I am sitting here,
that child is with his Father. He was saved; saved from a terrible world
of pain, suffering, evil, and hate, into a world of forgiveness,
holiness, and life. We will all

What in
the world could I say to help take away some of your pain, it is
breathtaking to even try to imagine what your family is going through. I
am so so sorry. You, Tom have the strongest family and most amazing
hearts of people I have ever read about or known. I pray for peace and
healing for your hearts. It is so hard for us as adults to try to
understand why life has such turns in it, much less for your son Eli.
That is what seems so miraculous to me is that little boys hope and
strength. Heaven has become an even better place to be with little Ben
waiting for us all with that big smile. Your family is forever in our

(which I haven't paid much attention to in a long while) and it struck

Thank
You, for putting Ben's story out there and doing so much to help other
children. I am sorry that your precious Ben was sent to be angel, but
glad that he is in good hands. My son Michael, was too sent to be an
angel at birth on 1/07/05. I take comfort in knowing he is not alone. I
hope you may find peace in knowing your son's memory with help another

Just a
little note to say "Thank you"! Ben has taught me a lesson on how to
look at life and parenting a little closer. After having 4 open heart
surguries in my 34 yrs of life, I realize how lucky I am.The news of Ben
going home has saddened me, but now he is better and is looking down on
us. As I cry and think how brave and wonderful this 2 yr old is to all
of the World, I also thank God he was able to see how much his family
loves him and what he means to everyone who knows and heard of "Big
Ben". Please, if there's anything we can do, just let me know! I have 2
kids myself and you all are my "HEROS"!!! How you have done it astounds
me. I don't think I could have done and went through what you have and
will. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family...and little

My heart
goes out to your family,I only wish I had known sooner. My daughter was
a St Judes patient, and just being there will bring a person closer to
God.I didnt know any other WV families while we stayed there off and on
in 2001-2002 This disease can make or break a family and it sounds like

I just
learned about your Big Ben on February 25th while at an Up 'til Dawn
Finale. His story touched my heart and brought me to tears, as did the
news I read when I recently visited your website. I pray that Ben is now
able to enjoy the things he missed here on earth and is also reunited

Dear Tom,
Jennifer and Eli, I was so sorry to check in on Ben after Shabbat and to
find that he is no longer with you. Yet, while his journey on earth is
done, I'm so very confident that the legacy he will leave will not end.
He and your family have truly been an example of faithfullness and love
for G-d regardless of life's circumstances. I'm so sorry for your loss
and grateful for the time you and those of us who know of him from a

about all the other kids that have brain tumors. My uncle had a brain

heart. I have small children of my own and I couldn't even start to
