In
reading the latest update my appreciation and admiration have only grown
for your family. I was recently sharing your story with someone and they
asked me if I knew you personally. I don't, but I do. We are family
through Christ and my heart goes out to you. God in His infinite wisdom
knows way down the road the impact Ben's story will have on this world.
You are a remarkable family. Trying to save other children in the face
of losing one of your own is not something you witness everyday. You are
my heroes, heroes of the faith. God is not only working through Ben but
through the family as well. You are laying treasures in heaven that will
one day be enjoyed by you and our heavenly father. Continue to lean on
him for strength. He is as close as the whisper of his name. Please know
there is one more family who continues to lift you up in prayer.

Dear Tom,
Jennifer, Eli and Ben, You are in my thoughts and prayers continually,
and have been for a long time. Tom, I met you at the American Rescue
Workers Banquet a couple of years ago. I was helping my
sister-in-Christ, Deb Yager, who has kept me continually updated on what
you have all been walking through. It always amazes me how big our God
is. Even though the outcome of Ben's illness may not be what we may
want, we can rest in the hope that God's plan for Ben is beyond anything
we can even phathom now. The miracles you are seeing now are just the
tip of the iceburg. I have an eight month old baby boy named Daniel. He
is our second child (our first, Bethany, is now 15 years old) and I have
to say that I think of Ben often when I look at Daniel. I am reminded
every day that Daniel is on loan to us and that our job is to love him
and take care of him as long as the Lord purposes us to. I now pray for
God's peace and mercy to overflow in your home. I also pray that Ben's
story will continue to touch lives and

posted on the Bowen Family. This is truely a family of God. Thank you
for your spiritual guidance through out your ordeals. God has truely
blessed you and yours, and you are blessing so many others with your

and Joseph wanted to mail a valentine, but it was already 2/14/05 so I
suggested I send their thoughts on your website. The valentine was
addressed to Ben's family from The Perkins family -- We love you! A
scripture was annotated on the envelope: Romans 12:12 -- the kids'
memory verse, simply stated Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and
faithful in prayer. You all are a living example of this scripture and
the best family a boy could ever hope for. The valentine itself is
Shaquille O'Neill. We all signed it and said we are praying for you all.
The envelope has a cute Sponge Bob sticker too. The boys wanted Ben and
Eli to see the valentine, but the day has already passed. Just know that
we are praying for peace to you all and for comfort for Ben during these

You are
on my mind so often. Ben is such an inspiration for those of us with
faith. I once heard a sermon in which the pastor said that we go kicking
and screaming into this world because the safety and comfort of the womb
is so hard to leave behind. But then this world is so wonderful and it
becomes our comfort and we don't want to let it go. However, our
entrance in to God's presence and into Heaven is so much better than
anything here on Earth. Ben is going to be there to greet us all! What a
