Tom and
Jennifer, I just read your update while at my desk as I have done daily
for many months now. Today I had my weekly Rotary lunch at Guyan.
Following that I ended up driving over and visiting Ben's grave site,
something I hadn't been to before. I attended the memorial service on
Monday evening the 28th. But was unable to attend the next day. I have
to tell you the Strength and courage our Lord has given you made it
possible for me to come up to that casket and thank you for sharing your
son's life. For some strange reason I felt so awkward and almost useless
when it came to consouling Jennifer. Leaving that evening as a
Christian, Husband, and a Father, I had a moment of overwhelming grief.
Grief I have never personally felt before. Today, that grief was gone.
It was so quiet and peaceful as I stood there and prayed to the Lord and
thanked Ben for coming into my life. I look forward to doing this from
time to time, as well as continuing to share Ben's life with others. God
Bless You

Dear Tom,
Jennifer & Eli: What a blessing your family has been through your
trials. You have lived everyday to the fullest with the Lord as your
Driver. You never let your pain, anger, or grief pull you from the
course God has given you. Big Ben our Angel here on earth has given so
many lessons to all of us. Renewed faith in so many ways for many that
we had not been living. My heart aches for your loss but knowing he is
living again in completely healed, and pain free is again a gift from
God. Know that we continue to pray for you and your family. I continue
to thank God for the many blessings he gives me but a stronger awareness
not to take so many things for granted. Your gift to all of us has been
the priviledge of allowing us to go through your jouney with Ben, being
part of his life through your e-mails and updates. What a blessing your
family is to all of us. Please know that we as a community lift you and
your family daily in our prayers.

There
have been many entrys in your updates, regarding Ben's Story "changing
lives". I have asked myself this on many occasions, and implemented this
into my life. What is important in life? If it were to all end today,
would I be happy with the decisions that I made? Would I let my job
consume what it does now? Would the people that I love more than
anything know that I love them? Did I make a difference in the lives of
others? Would I be proud to stand in front of God, knowing the choices I
have made here on earth? Ben's Story has helped me to ask myself some of
these and many more questions-just one example that Ben's Story is
changing lives...thank you for telling us Ben's Story-I can only
reaffirm that his story is taking people to new heights...

Sounds
like your priorities are all in place. How is Rachel? I hope doing
better everyday. Waking up and seeing Ben as you remember him is what
will help you get thought everyday. His smile and spirit is what carried
you through this year. It will continue to bring you comfort. I can only
imagine how you must feel not jumping every minute of the day. An
adjustment for all of you. Bens story will bring all kinds of reminders
of his wonderful life. A life well lived. We are all alive but do we
live well?? Something I am questioning myself and will pray on. Hang
tough Bowen feel our love and prayers. Big hugs to Eli. Believing..

Tom and
Jennifer, I think of you so often - more so now than ever. It seems
wrong to communicate this way the first time since Bens body departed
our lives for a better place. Please know that I think of you every day
and hope that you will also consider San Francisco as a get away at
anytime - my home is your home. love, Christine

Dear
Bowen Family: After reading your latest update, I was encouraged by your
faith and honesty. Your words are so meaningful and it's true that many
life a lifetime without understanding what purpose God has for our lives
and only he holds the key. I miss Ben too. Thanks for sharing; you are

God bless
your family during these difficult times. I doubt there is anything that
I could say to make you feel better...just know that lots of people out
here have fallen in love with your family and are terribly saddened by
the loss of Big Ben. I will keep your family in my prayers, especially
for Eli. I am sure this is really hard for him. I know God blessed you
with Big Ben for a reason. Ya'll are a wonderful model for all people to
follow. Continued strength for the days ahead. Save a place for all of
us Big Ben. Sincerely, Lindsay Kloehr

Hi Tom,
Jennifer, & Eli. Your post this evening is eloquent, as usual. You are
right...Ben lived more than most people do if given 100 years. He had a
big lesson to teach a lot of people and he accomplished that goal. Your
baby boy's life and suffering he had to endure are not in vain. I, too,
wish that he could have lived longer. Sometimes I wonder how many more
lessons could he have taught? How great of a man would he have been? But
you know, he did his job and all that wondering is for not. God knows
what Ben's role was (and still is) on this earth and he did everyone
proud. We are praying for you all and especially Eli. I hope he is doing
alright. Take care.

Keep on
looking to Jesus "Let us run with patient endurance and steady and
active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before
us, looking away to Jesus, Who is the leader and the source of our faith
and is also the finisher. He, for the joy that was set before Him,
endured the cross, despising and ignoring shame, and is now seated at
the right hand of the throne of God. Just think of Him Who endured from
sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself,
so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing
and fainting in your minds." Hebrews 12:1-3 Praying for all of you....

I want to
let your family know that you are in my prayers. I can't keep you guys
out of my mind. I just recently had a little girl and she is now 5 1/2
months old and I cannot imagine losing her to such a horrible illness.
It just makes it that much more evident that there is a God above that
gives you an awesome peace to keep you going through this life here
below. Enjoy every moment with your other son. God sure is enjoying Big
Ben in Heaven above!!!

God bless
you Bowen family for sharing your story, your struggle, and more than
that your life. My husband is Superintendent of Schools in Gilmer
County, WV. My best friends 14 month old "Abbie Grace" was diagnosed
with neuroblastoma just 3 weeks ago. It has already affected her
abdomen, lungs, kidneys, lining of the brain, bones and bone marrow. She
has completed her 1st round of chemo and getting ready for another of
many. Your story has touched so many, so much... and though things don't
look good we are hopeful for Abbie. She will be going to St. Jude's in
Ohio in the weeks to come. We are currently brainstorming for ideas to
help them with their finances during this trying time. May God be
continue to be with you during this time of grief... you will be blessed
for your work & efforts in helping others. Again, thanks for all you
have shared. God Bless & Be With You. Respectfully, Ed & Michelle Toman

Joe
Garrett is my co-worker. I'm sorry to hear of your lost. From your
pictures and sharings, I can feel Ben was a beautiful, cheerful, and
lovable baby. I feel your lost and pain of loosing a child but I'm also
glad the same time that Father God is taking good care of him now. Our
prayers and best wishes to the family. Please take care. Love in Christ.
