When
Jesus lived upon the earth, so many years ago, He called the children
close to Him, because He loved them so. And with that tenderness of old,
in that same sweet gentle way, He holds your little loved one within His
arms today. And you'll find comfort in your faith, that in His home
above, The God of little children gives your little one His love. So
think of little Ben, happy and care free, playing in Gods promise land
where there is joy eternally! I saw this poem and thought of you guys,
you continue to be in my prayers. Patricia

Tom and
Jennifer, It was great to see you guys in Church Sunday. We really miss
you and want you to know that you are constantly in our thoughts and
prayers. I know that it has been said often, but if there is anything
you need at all, please call us and let us know. Any projects around the
house or a simple meal. We know you are extremely busy and still hurting
at this time. Keep pressing on and looking ahead......Love you guys.

I have
been so touched following Ben's story. Just wanted to say that after his
passing, I couldn't help to notice that he was probably loved more in
his two years of life than most people are in an entire lifetime. You
two are wonderful parents. Thank you for teaching others how to really
love their children.

Tom and
Jennifer, There is not a day go by that I don't pray for you. I know you
are in "culture shock" right now. It will slowly fade away and the good
memories will be there. You have an awesome ministry. Ben isn't the only
one that has ministered to thousands. So have you with your honesty and
devotion to sticking to God despite the fear and pain. He is our Rock.
There were times when just reading about what you all were dealing with
helped me through one more day of Oncology visits and therapy and why is
he shaking and pacing and screaming and how can we get him to stay
focused for school. I know now that things are getting back to normal it
is scary to live a "normal" life again. God is AWESOME! I just keep
reading a portion of the Psalms everyday and realize that I am not the
only one and that God is my Rock, my fortress and my deliverer. Love in
Christ, Gail Dowling

Ben has
taught so much to so many people. It is amazing to me that so many
people miss those small things in life, like a childs smile or their
attempt to help. As a teacher, I try to teach my kids that even smiling
at someone in the hall that you would not normally look at may change a
life. It is sad that we often miss oppurtunities to change lives without
knowing it. It is amazing that Ben touched so many. For me he helped
teach patience with my students. Ben was always happy on the outside but
yet inside he had so many things going on with his health. The same is
so true of many students the way they act is not always a reflection of
the inside. He reminded me that I need to have patience to stand back
and not get frustrated. Sometimes teaching deals with more than just
teaching your content area.

I found
Ben's Story through Alethea's website last July. Since that time, I have
checked on you daily. Daily I prayed for your family. I hoped, I prayed,
and I grieved in honor of Ben and your entire family. I last posted
right after Ben went to be with Jesus. I continued to check back and
even though I expected it, I was moved to tears when your posts started
again and you were grateful. Today I post with nothing to say - nothing
that can come close to touching what your family has given all of us.
But I can tell you that I made changes in my life, to LIVE. And that you
have helped me truly appreciate my life, my little one. I say that and
it feels insensitive - but I don't think you will see it that way. I
will continue to check in on you all. I will continue to pray for peace
and healing for your family. You are never alone, God is with you.
People from around the world care and pray for your family. Ben is still
at work. He still touches lives, we will never forget his incredible
journey.

God
looked around His garden And found an empty place He then looked down
upon the earth And saw your tired face He put His arms around you And
lifted you to rest God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the
best He knew that you were suffering He knew you were in pain, He knew
that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was
getting rough And the hills were hard to climb So He closed your weary
eyelids, And whispered "Peace Be Thine." It breaks our hearts to lose
you But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God
called you home.

You have
a beautiful Eternal Perspective. To know why we are here is one thing,
to live the way we know why we are here is another. You are wonderful
examples of this.

Bowen
family, I want you to know that I continue to pray for you every time I
think about you, which is often. You are doing such a great job of
allowing the Lord's light to shine through this. I know he must be
blessing you tremendously amidst the pain. Thank you again for your
endurance. You embody the truth of Christianity. The core of who you
are, which is all that is left in a time like this, is absolutely
beautiful. May God continue to bless you, Morgan

Tom,
Jennifer and Eli, I continue to pray for your family. As I check for new
journal entries daily, once I begin to read I find myself hoping that
the journal will go on and on and on. Tom, I love the way you include
Jennifer's name, the journal is not just filled with "my" thoughts but
"our thoughts". It blesses me to read these journal entries. My life has
been wonderfully impacted by Big Ben and your family. Eli is blessed to
have you and Jennifer as his parents. Because of the Bowen family, we
have "slowed" down again as a family. Thank you, thank you for sharing
your lives with all of us. Much love from Fairmont. God bless.
